Feedback

Imagine a bowling alley with a curtain obscuring the pins. You throw the ball and hear the noise of pins falling. Repeat this act 12 to 20 times until your final score appears on a monitor. You would have no chance of minimizing the impact of imperfection (leaving a spare) to increase your score. You would have no information to improve your first ball accuracy to get a strike. Employees in some organizations are asked to perform this way, with no feedback to enable beneficial adjustments.

In business, strategies are based on planning assumptions.  You know that many of those assumptions will prove to be wrong.  Active feedback systems will help you adjust to that reality and keep your plans and strategies fresh.

There are two types of feedback important in the workplace, quantitative and qualitative. What was accomplished and how was it done. Frequently delivered feedback creates a condition in which every employee continually learns and is energized around the mission and objectives of your business.

SBR will help you identify meaningful measures and metrics, as well as the means for communicating them. Critical metrics tied to measurable results will help assure that strategies remain aligned with changing reality.

Equally important is how those results are being achieved. Candid and continual feedback supports learning.  It provides mentoring opportunities.  It also helps establish and entrench the behaviors that define your culture.  SBR has developed several systems for delivering this type of feedback.  We can help you install a system befitting your values.
